Community powered
by diversity

Embracing different perspectives is key to enhancing innovation, our collective knowledge and our community. This applies not only to our team, but to all the people we interact with each day. Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) encompasses everyone and is at the heart of our vision for a better future.

FOUNDATION OF SUCCESS

What makes us
strong

Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) are key to building a strong community and a successful business. As an international energy company, we rely on these values to transform the global energy system and secure a low-carbon future.

DEI shapes our culture, supports employee wellbeing and unlocks individual strengths and talents. By embracing diverse perspectives, we create an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued, connected and respected.

SENSE OF BELONGING

Fostering inclusion

Our aim is to create a work environment free from bias, where all employees have equal opportunities, regardless of:

  • Gender and gender identity
  • Nationality and ethnic origin
  • Religion and beliefs
  • Disability
  • Age
  • Sexual orientation and identity
  • Social background

We’ve also set ambitious goals: while women already hold 25% of leadership positions, our long-term aim is to achieve gender parity. At the same time, we strive to maintain or even increase the diversity of the 60-plus nationalities represented within our organisation.

OUR DEI INITIATIVES

Taking action for diversity

Our DEI policy is based on the principles of the “Charta der Vielfalt”, Germany’s leading initiative for workplace diversity. By signing the charter, we commit to:

  • Fostering a culture of respect and appreciation across all levels;
  • Reviewing HR processes to ensure the talents of all employees are recognised;
  • Promoting diversity and dialogue around the charter;
  • Reporting annually on our progress and involving employees in the implementation of the charter;
  • Providing annual DEI training to raise awareness;
  • Developing talent programmes and flexible career paths for equal opportunities;
  • Ensuring at least one female candidate is considered in leadership selection;
  • Offering gender-inclusive leadership and mentoring programmes.
