Astora GmbH becomes SEFE Storage GmbH and WINGAS GmbH becomes SEFE Energy GmbH. The changes took effect on 31 May and 6 June 2024.

SEFE Storage, is one of Europe’s largest gas storage operators. It markets nearly 6 billion cubic metres of gas storage capacity, around 25% of total German capacity.

SEFE Energy, supplies around 200 TWH of power and gas to customers in Germany and Europe and plays a key role in the stability of Europe’s energy supply.

With these name changes, all SEFE business divisions are now bundled under a common identity.

Dr Egbert Laege, CEO of SEFE, said “We continue to strengthen SEFE as an independent, integrated midstream company and these name changes reflect that. From sourcing, trading, through transport, sales and storage; SEFE – as a dedicated partner for its customers – is securing energy for Europe and driving the green energy transformation.”

SEFE’s CSO Matthias Peter said “As an integrated organisation we can offer our customers a full range of energy services along the value chain, and thus support them even more in achieving their decarbonisation goals.” SEFE supplies more than 50,000 customers from small businesses to municipal utilities and industrial users in Europe.
