The renaming shows the repositioning of the group and sends a clear signal to the market. SEFE’s new name illustrates the new role of the SEFE Group in securing energy supply in Germany and in Europe. The renaming further demonstrates SEFE Groups goal to play a long-term role in the market.

On 3 June 2022, Dr. Egbert Laege was appointed Managing Director of SEFE GmbH. Prior to this role, he served as General Representative of the trusteeship by the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) for the group, established on 4 April 2022.

On 14 June 2022 the company obtained a KfW loan to secure the liquidity and the replacement purchase of gas.

Furthermore, the government decided to extend the fiduciary management of SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH beyond September 2022 and in the long-term.

The management of the SEFE Group will continue to work in order to secure gas supply for German and European customers.
