Making sustainability transparent
SEFE provides transparent reporting on progress, challenges and assessments in the field of sustainability. We make sustainability measurable through clear disclosures and independent evaluations. Our environmental, social and governance (ESG) data reflects developments across these three dimensions. SEFE is assessed by international ESG platforms such as EcoVadis and the non-profit Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), delivering clear insights to employees, business partners, the public and regulatory authorities.
REPORTING
Delivering on objectives and requirements
SEFE regularly publishes ESG-related reports and undergoes independent evaluations. Our goal is to ensure transparency, fulfil regulatory requirements and continuously enhance our sustainability performance. This is supported by robust data, well-defined processes and external audits.
Our sustainability reports provide clear documentation of progress, challenges and areas for action across environmental, social and governance aspects. They are a vital tool for making our sustainability efforts traceable and building trust.
SEFE complies with existing regulations and is aligning with key standards and future reporting regulations, including CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), the EU Taxonomy, GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), TCFD (Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures) and SECR (Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting). We closely monitor regulatory developments to make sure our reporting aligns with national and international standards.
Independent audits strengthen the credibility of our non-financial reporting. In our latest Sustainability Report, selected greenhouse gas data was externally validated by ERM Certification and Verification Services (ERM CVS) – a foundation we plan to expand on.
Reliable ESG reporting requires reliable data. We continue to invest in advanced IT systems and automated processes to systematically capture key sustainability indicators and embed them in our long-term corporate strategy.
Certified to recognised standards
SEFE operates its storage assets in line with internationally recognised standards, with a clear focus on occupational safety, environmental protection, energy efficiency and information security. We apply the following standards:
· ISO 45001 – occupational health and safety
· ISO 14001 – environmental management
· ISO 50001 – energy management
· ISO 27001 – information security
· ISO 45001 – occupational health and safety
· ISO 14001 – environmental management
· ISO 50001 – energy management
· ISO 27001 – information security
ISO 14001 defines the requirements for environmental management systems – supporting legal compliance, setting clear environmental objectives and enabling transparent tracking of progress.
Effective information security management relies on established standards – notably ISO 27001. In addition, critical operational units are certified under the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG). This ensures compliance with legal requirements, such as the NIS2 Directive, and strengthens IT security in the long term.
ISO 45001 provides a robust framework for occupational health and safety management. It reduces workplace risks, protects employee wellbeing over the long term and establishes clear roles in safety processes.
Implementing energy management in accordance with ISO 50001 allows for the systematic monitoring and reduction of energy consumption. This improves the efficiency of technical systems and contributes to lower operating costs.
